Description
Polypodium vulgare, or Common Polypody, produces new fronds from a slowly creeping rhizome in early summer. Fronds are evergreen, erect, deeply cut, and taper to a point. Displays large spherical spore clusters underneath the leaf.
Common Polypody thrives in dry, neutral to acidic, loose, richly organic soil. Excellent for rock gardens, in woodlands and naturalized landscapes.
