Eucomis bicolor is a hardy, South African bulbous perennial emerging with wide, upright, green strap leaves growing in a clump. Late Summer brings on unusual flower stalks crowned with a tuft of leaflets and small green star flowers outlined in purple. The flowers make excellent cut flowers.
Pineapple Lily grows best in rich. well-drained soil. Plant in cottage or meadow gardens, or in containers. The bulbs can be lifted and saved for next year.
