Arctostaphylos cruzensis is a rare Manzanita endemic to coastal areas. Forms a flattened evergreen mat or low mound of gray-green leaves on tangled branches with shredding red bark. Displays pale pink, urn-shaped winter flowers. Manzanita can be a suitable groundcover for dry, sandy soils. Best growth occurs in acid soils. Excellent for edging and rock gardens.
